About us
Templar Estate Planning - Caversham Reading Berkshire

Templar Estate Planning – Will Writers and Estate Planners in Caversham, Reading.

We are your local Will writers and Estate Planners. We offer professional, tailor-made solutions for your Will and estate planning needs – we like to think that we are very approachable and will always take the time to explain and make you comfortable throughout the process.

Based in Caversham, Reading, we directly serve all areas in and around Reading and South Oxfordshire – and with us all getting used to video calling and meetings we are delighted to be able to deliver our services wherever you are in the UK!

We offer you a free consultation to help fully assess and understand what type of Will and estate planning you might need. These consultations are at your convenience, we are not bound by office hours so if you want to talk in the evening then that is when we will talk with you!

We offer a number of options for our consultations as required; they can take place in our office, at your home (or another convenient place), or initially over the phone. The choice is yours.

Please note our office is both wheelchair friendly and accessible for people with limited mobility, find out more here.

Why choose us

Planning for the future – your Will, your Power of Attorney, how you want things handled if the worst happens isn’t something you want to hand over to a stranger on the other end of a phone, or a faceless online form. It deserves a proper conversation; with people you can trust. That’s exactly what we offer.

A local team, not a national portal

We’re based right here in Caversham, and unlike many of the online-only Will-writing services that have sprung up in recent years, we have an actual office you can visit. You can sit down with us face-to-face, ask questions, and get straight answers — not be passed between departments or left waiting on hold. We’re proud to be part of this community, and many of our clients come to us through recommendations from neighbours, friends, and family who’ve been through the process with us themselves.

We also believe estate planning shouldn’t feel intimidating. You won’t find stuffy offices or confusing legal jargon here. We explain everything in plain English, at a pace that suits you, and we never use scare tactics to rush a decision. Our goal is simple: you should leave every conversation with us feeling like you properly understood your options – not more confused than when you arrived.

Planning that fits together, not just paperwork

A Will on its own is a good start, but it’s rarely the whole picture. Power of Attorney, Trusts, and wider estate planning all interact with one another and when they’re arranged separately, through separate firms, gaps and inconsistencies can creep in. We look at your whole situation and make sure everything works together as one coherent plan, rather than a stack of disconnected documents.

A relationship, not a one-off transaction

We know these can be difficult, personal conversations about family, and what happens to the people you love. We handle them with care and patience, never with pressure. But just as importantly, our relationship with you doesn’t end the moment you sign your documents. Life moves on: you might get married, move house, welcome a new grandchild, or simply want to check your plan still reflects your wishes. We’re here for all of it, making sure your estate plan evolves alongside your life not something that gets filed away and forgotten.

Experienced, local, and genuinely on your side – that’s the difference of working with a team that’s still here, long after the paperwork is done.
